Dutch hitmaker Sam Feldt has teamed up with fellow Dutch duo, Deepend for their latest release, ‘Runaways’ feat. Teemu, out now via Spinnin’ Records.
‘Runaways’ serves as a follow up to Sam’s platinum smash hit ‘Summer On You’, a collaborative effort with production duo Lucas & Steve and featuring vocal talent, Wulf. ‘Summer On You’ received over 7 million Spotify plays, peaked at #1 in Sam’s native Holland, and its music video amassed over 2.3 million YouTube views. New single, ‘Runaways’ is filled with Teemu’s emotive male vocal, a prominent, melodic guitar hook and accompanying piano chords. Sam and Deepend’s producing talents are well displayed throughout the track.
The accompanying music video follows two animated pieces of paper as they meet each other in New York City. Turing into human form, the couple dance across the city, expressive of their love before taking an unfortunate turn. Perfectly positioned to bid farewell to the summer season, ‘Runaways’ will continue on the summer spirit into the colder months.
2016 is proving to be a landmark year so far for both Deepend and Sam. Deepend’s rework of Matt Simon’s worldwide hit, ‘Catch & Release’ peaked at #1 for 3 weeks in the European airplay charts, amassed over 130 million Spotify and over 50 million YouTube streams. The duo produced well received remixes for Gnash’s ‘I Hate U, I Love U’ and Robin Schulz’s ‘Heatwave’ amongst others.
Elsewhere, Sam has performed spectacular live sets at several renowned festivals including Coachella, Creamfields, Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival, to name a few. Currently wrapping up his tour across America with producer Bakermat, Sam will be returning to this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event, hosting his ‘Heartfeldt & Friends’ pool party – the first ever pool party to grace the conference and events series.
